Fees & Funding
Transparent fees and flexible options for accessing support.
At Personal Path Psychology all sessions are 50-minutes, unless otherwise specified.
Our session fees represent the value of the tailored, high-quality support you’ll receive in our compassionate and collaborative setting.
The session fees at Personal Path Psychology are below the suggested amount for psychological services as indicated on the APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees.
Fee Overview
-
Your initial session is designed to gather information, establish rapport, and begin understanding what brings you to therapy.
-
Ongoing sessions will centre on working collaboratively to address your concerns and promote change.
-
Gives you the opportunity to explore your concerns and identify potential next steps – all within one focused session.
Funding Options
-
You don’t need a referral to see a psychologist; however, to access a Medicare rebate for psychological services, a referral from a GP or medical practitioner is required.
To be eligible for a rebate, your referral must be provided under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). A MHCP allows eligible individuals to claim Medicare rebates for the treatment of specific mental health conditions for up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year. With a MHCP you may be eligible for a rebate of $141.85 per session.
Personal Path Psychology will require a copy of the MHCP referral prior to your first appointment.
-
Personal Path Psychology can provide services to clients under the NDIS who are self-managed. We are not a registered provider of the NDIS and therefore cannot see any NDIA or plan-managed clients.
Clients utilising self-managed NDIS funding will be required to pay in full on the day of service.
-
Depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychological services through your private health insurance. To confirm your eligibility, we recommend contacting your health insurer directly.
Please note that Personal Path Psychology cannot process private health claims; instead, we will provide you with an invoice that you can lodge with your insurer directly.
-
Unfortunately, Personal Path Psychology does not have the capacity to accept referrals from Work Cover, TAC or DVA clients.
-
We understand that unexpected situations can occur. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled time will incur a fee equal to 50% of the session cost.
If you do not attend your appointment without notice, the full session fee will apply. Please note that arriving 20 minutes or more late may result in your appointment being forfeited and treated as a same-day cancellation, which may also incur the full session fee.
